A Person

Problem. People, places, things, situations, relationships, goals and dreams. Problem with people today, they mistake tactlessness for brutal honesty, meanwhile tactful people are often their victims. The dumb ones often think they are smart and use terms they don’t even know about while the smart ones often doubt their own intelligence. Like what Einstein said, “two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the universe“. The lazy ones often find excuses to procrastinate or even to cancel a task. While the hardworkers more often than not find something to work on.

What’s hard is denial. If one keeps thinking one need not to change, then you not only deny improvement, you invite deterioration of maturity, thus growth stops. Whatever age group you’re in today, there’s a reason why you woke up healthy while other people in all walks of life are fighting for their lives or sighed their last breath.

Prove you’re worthy to breathe more than that little angel vomiting after chemo. Don’t waste your time living a day after another.

When the time comes, I’d want to go home, not anywhere else but home. So I don’t anchor on wordly things, for they are like me, temporary.  I save up on what’s waiting for me.

At a carnival or a waterpark, a concert or a street parade, all gives you a guarantee of a crowd.  But they could still be the lonliest places to be for the people who are living their nightmares instead of pursuing their dreams.  You always feel alone in a crowd if you are with a stranger.
A stranger should not only mean someone you don’t know, he or she could be someone you used to care about but not anymore.  He or she could be your best friend since forever who didn’t stay the same. Or a loved one, you would once give everything up, but can’t even look at them anymore.  Then again, I guess the word still fits- stranger.
We seldom realize or take notice how relationships just drift away, how you are forced by life to let something go. But sometimes, no matter how much you try to let something go, life just reels you back in.
Things that make you ponder whether your life is really yours. Force, you decide if you’ll resist or submit, either way it’s still there. Rules, written or not, whether you break it or live by it, rules are rules. Rights, acknowledged or stepped on, whether you respect it or not, it exists. Crimes, caught or done perfectly under the radar, whether against the laws of the people or the laws of nature, a crime is a crime.
Life pretty much gets you when you least expect it, just when you get comfortable in a place, you discover molds on the couch. By the time you finally let go of something or someone, a ghost suddenly shows up.  But the surprises always make life worth living. No matter how this tired old cliche may be, but it sure does come in handy, stay positive and live your life.  Today is the youngest you’ll ever be.

I’m too weak to feel. I’m too scarred to try again, and yet in this silence my mind is making too much noise that i can hardly hear the beats of my heart. Questions again flooding in my head, but my heart is silent. What made her quiet? Maybe now she understands, and the things that my head have been telling her just hit her.

Just when she found her voice again, reality shuts her up. But life is cruel sometimes, teaches us lessons that we think we don’t need until we do. Still nothing, not a word, not a single sigh. She still beats but she knows everything’s different. Nothing ever seems different until you look back.

Now I know she will be silent longer than she had been. Slowly crawling into her box again where she feels most safe. Nobody judging her, nobody telling her how she should feel. And finally before she closes the box, she posts a question, how much more patience do i need to get it right? Then everything goes numbingly quiet.

A sad story would be an understatement

She loved him so much. Gave everything she thought would keep them together. He loved her too.  They have been together for quite some time now, had their shared moments of ups and downs. Normal for a couple, they would say.  Small misunderstanding and petty fights are part of a relationship that is going strong, or is it?

He has been patient with her.  Tried to understand and had been careful not to make her upset. She, in return, has been honest to him. Loyal and trustworthy she had promised to be and it was a promised she assured to keep.  But then fate is mean at times. It tries to shake things to check its stability.  How do you assure a relationship to be strong enough?

Years passed and so did everything. Everything but them. It seemed that they got stuck. Stuck on that space they cannot explain.  You got too comfortable, that’s  what other say. Is being too comfortable not good? Does that put out the spark that used to be there?

One day they decided to end the unexplainable agony they seem to have.  Ended a relationship that had a great start.  Thinking that it would free themselves from the confused mind and uneasy feeling, they went on separate ways.  She decided to fly to another place and he had stopped communicating to her. But again fate went all crazy and messed up with them. Could one still recover from a damage that is unfixable?

She longed for him. He missed her badly. She realized that they don’t need a spark. He figured it’s only her that he wants.  He searched for her before he would go completely mental. She decided to fly back home to see her love.

A day before her flight back she received an email from him.  He is going to wait at the airport for her. He missed her and wants nothing else but for them to be together.  She immediately replied to his email. She longs to be in his arms again. She regrets that they had parted ways.

As she took the plane she felt nothing but excitement.  She will be with him again and the best thing is, he wants her  back. At the airport she arrived, quickly she got her baggage and went to see him outside. But  she got confused for he was not there. Her family was, but he was not. Her best friend was there, but he wasn’t. All of them staring at her as she walked towards them, all with curious looks.

A few more steps and she could clearly see their faces.  Did he change his mind? Did he decided not to be with her for good. She saw her best friend adjusted her sunglasses. She stared. Was that tears I saw, she thought. She stopped walking and looked at them hoping she would see signs that would explain everything.

Her mom rushed to her, crying. She was perplexed. What has happened?  She could her heart beating fast. She was all confused. Where is he, is all that she could say. Her mom sobbed. A word she did not utter. She turned to her  best friend and asked, where is he?

He’s gone. Two words rang sharply on her ears. Gone, but where to? She flew back here to see him, where did he go this time?

Flashes of images went rushing on her mind as she imagined the things they told her. He went to the mall the day before to pick up something.  Along the highway he drove his car carefully, but from the other lane a truck lost its brake and crashed his car, pushing it to sidewalk. He was not able to escape. She tried to imagine he was able to jump out of the card, but it was no use. He was not able to escape.

She listened to everyone as they try to comfort her. She had not said a word, nor dropped a tear. She just tried to listen, hoping she would wake up from a bad a dream. But as she listened to their stories, she broke down when she heard it. He was going to the mall to pick up a gift. A customized golden ring designed just for her.
